Hi, I’m Dawn.
I’m 31 years old, married, and have a dog called Max (who’s my furry baby). I was born and grew up on the west coast of Scotland where I lived until May 2015 when my husband was offered a job in Montreal, Canada. We decided that oppportunities like this don’t come up every day, packed up our belongings, and the rest as they say is history.
I worked in mental health back in the U.K. but in Montreal I’m a part-time nanny and part-time housewife (the housewife role is one I’m definitely still learning how to negotiate – a stereotypical housewife I am not!) and occasional French student (that’s a story for another day). This extra time I have is giving me the opportunity to do all the things I love- reading and writing being two of them.
Read my blog about life as an English speaking ex-pat making a new life in a French speaking province in Canada; finding my way around and falling in love with Montreal; our adventures as we travel and see as much of Canada and the USA as possible; and the benefits and challenges of my new life here, as well as everything inbetween.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
